Support and Knowledge

ICRI is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization whose mission is to improve the lives of children and families throughout the world, enabling them to survive and to succeed.

In 1979, a group of children’s advocates identified that, even though many successful programs targeting children’s wellbeing existed around the world, there was a lack of a system through which different groups could exchange information and experiences. ICRI was established in 1981 with the aim of being an international link among agencies, organizations, and individuals concerned with children and families.

ICRI offers consultation and technical assistance as well as develops new projects in cooperation with local and international groups. Our philosophy is to maximize the use of previously tested models, best practices and innovative resources, thereby bringing the best from around the world to each consultation or project – for the best of children. ICRI works with local groups who have identified a specific need for children and their families.

ICRI supplies the latest research findings about children to groups who are in need of this information and can develop this knowledge locally, regionally or internationally. During its 25 years of existence, ICRI has established partnership with organizations in 35 different countries and has an office in the following countries:

  • USA
  • Chile
  • Zimbabwe
  • Ghana
  • Kenya
  • Nepal
  • India
  • Norway
